What we collect, why, and who else sees it.
What we collect
Your email address
Collected when you sign in. We use magic links, so there is no password to store. Your email identifies your account, your Developer Balance, and your scan history, and it is the address sign-in links are sent to.
The URLs you submit
Every URL you scan is stored with your account (or, for an anonymous Free Quick Check, without one). We need it to run the scan and to show you the result again later.
Scan results and logs
A scan produces a report: findings, the evidence behind them, response headers, page screenshots, and engine timings. Evidence is captured from the site you asked us to check. If that site exposes something sensitive in a public response, it may appear in the report — which is the point of the check, but worth knowing before you scan.
We record the IP address a Free Quick Check was requested from, solely to rate-limit anonymous use so one network cannot monopolise the scanner.
Who processes data for us
- Stripe — payment processing for Developer Balance deposits. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers. We store Stripe's payment identifier so the same payment cannot be credited twice.
- Resend — delivery of service email: sign-in links and messages about your account or a scan you ran. It does not carry the outreach described below.
- Zoho Mail — the mailbox our direct outreach is sent from, and where replies to it arrive. Kept separate from service email on purpose.
- Vercel — hosting for the website and API.
- Neon — the Postgres database holding accounts, balances and scan results.
- Railway — the container that runs the scanner.
- Vercel Web Analytics — aggregate page-view counts, so we can see which pages are used. It is cookieless, sets no advertising identifier, and does not follow you across other websites.
These providers process data on our behalf in order to run the service. We use no third-party advertising, no ad networks, and no cross-site behavioural tracking.
Direct outreach
We may send a small number of one-off emails about FIX BEFORE LAUNCH to business or project contact addresses that are published publicly — an address on a project's own website, or one its owner chose to make public on a developer profile. We store that address, where we found it, and the project it belongs to, so that we can honour an opt-out and so the same project is never contacted twice.
This is not a newsletter and nobody has been added to a list. A project receives at most one message, and it is sent without having been asked for — we do not treat a published address as permission. Every message carries an opt-out link. Using it suppresses both that address and the project's domain, so nothing further is sent. You can also ask for an address or domain to be added to that list in advance, before we ever write to it — email info@fixbeforelaunch.com.
A link in those messages records that it was followed, so we can tell whether the message was useful. There is no tracking pixel and nothing follows you after you arrive.
We do not sell or share contact information. Outreach is separate from service email: sign-in links and messages about your account or a scan you ran are sent because you are using FIX BEFORE LAUNCH, and opting out of outreach does not affect them.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with anyone beyond the providers above, except where we are legally required to.
Retention and deletion
Scan results are kept so you can return to them. Email info@fixbeforelaunch.com to have your account and its scans deleted. Records we must keep for tax or accounting purposes are retained as the law requires.
